The talk of big timber  |  OCTOBER 13, 2008

There was an interesting piece in The Oregonian today, testing one's word power on logging terminology. I managed to score all but one correct.

Funny, but I never came across "Big Delia" when researching THE SPRUCE PRODUCTION DIVISION. They say she ran a brothel back in Michigan and was quite the charmer – she once hit a logger who refused to take off his boots, breaking both his jaw and her hand in the process.

The logging terms are from a new book by Beaverton author Don Alanen,
